I suspect my attraction to
iPhone photography is grounded in the same basic principles as my interest in
pinhole photography. I am drawn to the idea of "letting things happen." Apps like
Hipstamatic and others introduce an element of chance that is similar to the unpredictable results associated with analog processes achieved with Polaroid, toy and pinhole cameras. However, in this case the array of lenses and film options are packaged in one handy little device that slides easily into a pocket - a winning combination I find difficult to resist.
