About

Margaret Helthaler is an artist, designer, and educator. She received a BFA in graphic design from SUNY College at New Paltz and an MFA in visual art from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. Her interdisciplinary studies in design, photography, printmaking, drawing, painting and sculpture contribute to her interest in various image making processes.

Margaret also enjoys exploring the natural landscape. The textures, colors and hidden details in New York’s Southern Catskills are a constant inspiration.

In addition to her work in photography and other media, Margaret has nearly 30 years of experience as a graphic designer. She is currently a lead faculty member at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division. In this capacity, she teaches typography and oversees faculty performance.

Margaret enjoys sharing ideas and exploring new concepts – both as a teacher and as an artist.
